In response to Zarif’s statement, the Saudi Foreign Minister: There are no direct contacts with Iran

Baghdad, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan confirmed that up to now there are no direct contacts with Iran.

He said in remarks today, Saturday, on the sidelines of the Munich Security Forum: that Iran engages in reckless behavior and threatens the global economy.

Bin Farhan stressed that the Kingdom is interested in finding ways to stop the escalation in the region, pointing out that his country will respond to any Iranian provocation.

He added: We are interested in finding ways to stop the escalation in the region, and the only change in the region is the escalation of hostilities by Iran.

The Iranian Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, announced that: There are no messages from Saudi Arabia about a peace initiative in the region.

He said in a statement while attending the security conference in Munich, Germany: We wrote to Saudi Arabia, the Emirates, Bahrain and Oman for a peace initiative in the Arab Gulf, but some did not respond.
