Iraq confirms its readiness to host and chair the 60th session of the Arab Health Ministers’ Meeting

Baghdad, The Minister of Health, Saleh Mahdi Al-Hasnawi, announced Iraq’s readiness to host and chair the 60th session of the Arab Health Ministers’ Meeting in Baghdad.

Al-Hasnawi said in a statement: ‘Iraq is preparing to host and chair the 60th session of the Arab Health Ministers’ Meeting in Baghdad for the period from (17-18) this April, in the presence of the health ministers of 22 Arab countries, headed by Iraq.’

He added: ‘The session will discuss many important health items and files related to the Arab brothers and joint cooperation regarding them, and includes more than 24 items for various issues,’ pointing out that ‘on April 17, the initial meeting of the Executive Office of the Arab Ministers of Health will be held in Baghdad, which in turn will discuss the items and recommendations.’ submitted by the Arab countries and the reports of the technical committees, and prepares recommendations and decisions, which in turn submits them to the Ministerial Council, which in turn will hold its session o
n the following day, April 18, to discuss and vote on these decisions, in addition to the opening of the Iraqi Pharmaceutical Industries Exhibition.’

He continued: “The items and files include a number of common health issues, most notably the health repercussions of the Zionist entity’s attacks on the State of Palestine, especially the Gaza Strip, and providing health support to the State of Palestine.”

He expressed, “The Iraqi government and people fully welcome the Arab brothers in their country, Iraq, and also welcomes the Arab health ministers and all upcoming guests and delegations that will participate in the meeting.”
