Riyadh: King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (KFSHandRC) said in a press release issued today that the center is set to carry out, on May 19-20, here, at Riyadh Park Mall, the Clinical Trials Awareness Campaign under the slogan “Together, we Nurture Hope”.

According to the release, the campaign aims to raise public awareness about the importance of clinical research in developing innovative treatments that improve patient care and bridge the gap between medical research and public knowledge.

Coinciding with the International Clinical Trials Day, observed on May 20, the campaign aims to foster community awareness and nurture a culture that embraces scientific research, essential to conducting such studies effectively.

Through the campaign, KFSHandRC experts will provide attendees with direct insights and a range of educational resources. The event will also feature child-friendly activities and provide a comprehensive experience for families. Participants will be able to communicate directly
with researchers and individuals who have participated in clinical trials.

The campaign is part of the Clinical Trials Transformation Initiative (CTTI), established at KFSHRC in late 2021.

“This initiative reflects the hospital’s commitment to enhancing the quality, diversity, and safety of clinical research, nurturing hope for patients in the Kingdom and globally, and positioning Saudi Arabia as a leading global hub in medical research and innovation,” the statement said.

Last October, KFSHandRC organized the Annual Conference on Clinical Trials Transformation, resulting in the establishment of a comprehensive and unified platform for clinical research. These efforts have led to the initiation of 140 new clinical trials, providing over 1,200 patients to access early innovative treatments.

The hospital also participated in more than 80 clinical studies, resulting in significant healthcare cost savings of approximately SAR62 million.

According to the release, KFSHandRC is among the global leaders that pro
vide specialized healthcare, drive innovation, and serve as an advanced medical research and education hub. Through strategic partnerships with prominent local, regional, and international institutions, the hospital is dedicated to advancing medical technologies and raising the standards of healthcare worldwide.

KFSHandRC has been ranked first in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and 20th globally in the list of the world’s top 250 healthcare institutions for the second consecutive year and recognized as the most valuable healthcare brand in the Kingdom and the Middle East, according to 2024 Brand Finance rankings. Additionally, in the same year, it was ranked among the world’s best 250 hospitals by the prestigious Newsweek magazine.
