Indonesian Transport Minister Lauds Makkah Route Initiative

Surabaya, Indonesia’s Minister of Transport Budi Karya Sumadi commended the strong collaboration between his country and Saudi Arabia, and the success of the Makkah Route Initiative, which makes Indonesian pilgrims’ Hajj experience seamless, not least by carrying out their travel procedures before departure.

In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Sumadi praised the initiative for shortening processing times and lauded the professionalism and organizational skills of the Saudi staff involved in the process.

Sumadi emphasized Saudi Arabia’s long-standing commitment to serve pilgrims, which dates back to the Kingdom’s founding. He also acknowledged the positive impact of the initiative under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

The initiative expanded this year beyond Jakarta, to Surabaya and Solo, and the minister lauded the initiative’s goals and
its success at all levels.
