Tabuk, The King Salman bin Abdulaziz Royal Reserve Development Authority announced its accreditation as the first major biodiversity site in Saudi Arabia according to international standards. The Key Biodiversity Areas Organization (KBA) published the accreditation announcement on its official website, confirming that the King Salman in Abdulaziz Royal Natural Reserve (KSRNR) conforms to three global standards, including endangered species and demographic concentrations of species.

The KBA observes, monitors, and preserves accredited global sites for their role in sustaining biological diversity. Sites are identified and designated as globally significant in preserving biological diversity according to international standards.

This achievement reflects the King Salman bin Abdulaziz Royal Reserve Development Authority’s steadfast commitment to protecting endangered species, developing natural habitats, enhancing environmental awareness in society, and reducing natural and human threats. The authority conti
nues its endeavor to achieve its ambitious strategic goals, backed by the reserve’s regional position as the largest in the Middle East, with a total area of 130,700 square kilometers.
