þRiyadh, King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (KFSHandRC) announced in a press release today the launch of a virtual pharmaceutical consultation appointment service. This service allows patients to communicate with the hospital’s pharmaceutical care providers to address their needs and queries without visiting the hospital.

The release stated that this initiative is part of the hospital’s ongoing commitment to leveraging technology to enhance patient experience, operational efficiency, and sustainability. The goal is to make specialized healthcare more accessible and to extend services to a broader range of patients.

The service enables KFSHandRC’s patients to self-book an appointment with a pharmacist through the “Altakhassusi” app. Patients can seek answers to their queries about available medication alternatives, changes to the pharmaceutical form of medications, or adjustments to dosages and administration frequencies, ensuring they receive timely pharmaceutical consultations from the com
fort of their homes.

The hospital’s Pharmaceutical Care Services Division indicated that scheduling a virtual pharmaceutical consultation appointment is done through the “Altakhassusi” app, available on smartphones. This provides an online care option, allowing users to book a consultation appointment seamlessly.

KFSHandRC has been ranked first in the Middle East and Africa and 20th globally on the list of the world’s top 250 Academic Medical Centres for the second consecutive year. It has also been recognized as the most valuable healthcare brand in the Kingdom and the Middle East, according to the 2024 Brand Finance rankings. Additionally, in the same year, it was ranked among the world’s best 250 hospitals by Newsweek magazine.
