General Authority for Affairs of Two Holy Mosques Participates in Third Global Project Management Forum

Makkah: The General Authority for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque participated in a dialogue session titled “The Portfolio of Social Sustainability” within the activities of the third Global Project Management Forum (GPMF), under the slogan “We Achieve the Dream: Leadership, Empowerment, Sustainability,” which was held in Riyadh from June 2 to 3.

Authority representative Eng. Sultan Al-Qurashi spoke about the concept of social sustainability and its relationship with the management of the projects and facilities of the Grand Mosque, pointing out the mosque’s status and sanctity and being a host of many life activities, as a space for worship, health care, and a beacon of knowledge, which are important aspects considered in the infrastructure designs of the mosques to embrace the features of community life in the Two Holy Mosques.

Al-Qurashi said that one of the major indicators of social sustainability in project management in the Two Holy Mosques is maintaining the security and saf
ety of pilgrims, and realizing satisfaction and comfort for them. He also pointed to community participation and the initiative of private sector to collaborate in providing services to the Grand Mosque visitors.

Al-Qurashi highlighted the great interest shown by the wise leadership in providing full care for the Two Holy Mosques and achieving one of the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

He also stressed that the authority, through its major and specific projects and with the participation of many sectors, provides the requirements and needs of pilgrims in all segments. Among these projects are the project of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for simultaneous translation of the sermons of the Two Holy Mosques and the sermon on the Day of Arafah, and the children’s guesthouses project.
