Riyadh: Green Riyadh has announced the commencement of construction for three city parks in Riyadh, spanning an area of 550,000 square meters. These parks will be located in the neighborhoods of Al Munsiyah, Al Rimmal, and Al Qadisiyah. The initiative aims to raise the quality of life, provide recreational spaces for residents and visitors, increase the per capita green space by 16 times its current level, and transform Riyadh into one of the most sustainable cities in the world.
The designs of the three city parks, situated in the eastern part of Riyadh, complement the natural landscape of Wadi Sulai and are seamlessly connected with the Sports Boulevard through green pedestrian streets and corridors. More than 585,000 trees and shrubs will be planted, covering 65% of the park’s area.
The parks will include 18 kilometers of walking trails, 8 kilometers of running tracks, 8.5 kilometers of cycling paths, and 22 children’s play areas designed to provide innovative educational experiences to raise environment
al awareness. The parks will also feature green terraces, open spaces, and theaters for events and festivals. Additionally, sports facilities catering to various age groups will be available.
Green Riyadh is also focused on planting residential neighborhoods, developing neighborhood parks, planting streets and corridors, developing sidewalks and pedestrian walkways, and planting trees in mosques, schools, parking lots, valleys, and their tributaries. The project emphasizes main roads and government buildings such as ministries, authorities, and universities. It includes the development of water networks for irrigation, totaling 1,350 kilometers across the city.
Green Riyadh nurseries will produce 3 million trees, shrubs, and soil covers annually to meet the necessary planting needs.

ver 7.5 million trees in Riyadh, increasing the city’s green cover to 9% and raising the per capita green space from 1.7 square meters to 28 square meters.
This megaproject enhances Riyadh’s urban environment through the greening of residential neighborhoods and contributes to the Saudi Green Initiative (SGI) of planting 10 billion trees across the Kingdom as part of Saudi Vision 2030.
