Jeddah: A 53-year-old Egyptian pilgrim had a critical medical situation upon arrival at the pilgrims’ lounge at King Abdulaziz International Airport. The man suffered severe chest pain, jeopardizing his life.

Medical teams stationed at the airport’s health monitoring centers acted swiftly. They provided the pilgrim with immediate medical attention and recognized the urgency of his case. He was promptly transported by ambulance to the King Abdullah Medical Complex’s Specialized Heart Center in Jeddah.

Specialists in cardiology and cardiac catheterization evaluated the pilgrim’s condition. Examinations revealed a severely blocked stent. Due to the critical nature of the situation, a rapid non-surgical intervention was necessary.

Following the successful intervention, the patient was transferred to the cardiac care department to monitor and stabilize his health. Once his condition improved, he was discharged from the hospital and cleared to resume his Hajj journey in good health.
