NCM Research Tackles Heat Stress Risks for Pilgrims in Makkah

General

Mina: The National Center for Meteorology (NCM) has begun its field research on heat stress and sunstroke risks during this year’s Hajj season. This initiative aims to collaborate with relevant authorities to minimize heat-related illnesses among pilgrims.

According to NCM, the study involves measuring temperature, wind speed, and humidity inside and outside pilgrim camps. This data, in conjunction with the Ministry of Health, will be used to assess heat stress levels and predict potential sunstroke cases, ultimately safeguarding the health and safety of pilgrims.
