Justice Minister Launches 1st Phase of Higher Diploma in Criminal Law Program

Justice Minister Walid Al-Samaani launched the first phase of the Higher Diploma in Criminal Law program designed for judges at criminal courts in the Kingdom, according to a press release from the ministry.

Al-Samaani said that the program aligns with the Kingdom’s ongoing legislative developments under the leadership of HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

The program will buttress upholding rights, justice and transparency, and enhance the predictability of legal decisions.

The minister highlighted that the program seeks to equip judges with the fundamental principles and general rules of criminal law, while enhancing their legal skills to accurately apply these laws.

The program focuses on ensuring the correct interpretation and implementation of legal provisions, ultimately improving the quality of criminal rulings.

iminal law principles, clarify procedures, and assist judges in characterizing crimes accurately. The program also covers specific offenses under Saudi law, their penalties, and how laws are applied.
