HRH the Crown Prince Chairs Cabinet Session in Riyadh

His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired the Cabinet session held in Riyadh.

At the outset of the session, the Cabinet was briefed on the content of the message that Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud received from President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro, the content of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud’s reception of State of Palestine President Mahmoud Abbas, and the discussions held in the meeting concerning the Kingdom’s continued efforts to communicate with international and regional parties to halt the escalation.

The Cabinet confirmed its absolute rejection of extremist and incendiary Israeli statements and the continuous provocations of the feelings of Muslims around the world, calling on the international community to put an end to the humanitarian catastrophe that the Palestinian people are experiencing, and to activate serious mechanisms
to hold Israeli officials accountable for the ongoing violations of international laws, norms and resolutions.

Minister of Media Salman bin Yousef Al-Dossary told the Saudi Press Agency in a statement after the session that the Cabinet discussed the results of the meetings held in Switzerland designated to construct tangible and immediate steps to alleviate the suffering of the Sudanese people and achieve a permanent cessation of hostilities, stressing that the Kingdom will continue to work with international partners until the restoration of security and stability to the brotherly country.

The Cabinet touched on the major local economic developments and the latest relevant statistics and indicators, including a 10.5% increase in non-oil exports in the second quarter of this year, compared to the same period in 2023.

The Cabinet congratulated the winners of the 44th session of the King Abdulaziz International Competition for Memorization, Recitation and Interpretation of the Holy Quran, highlighting the Ki
ngdom’s keenness since its establishment to serve Holy Quran, considering this the noblest goals.

The minister of media said that the Cabinet praised the success of the first edition of the Esports World Cup, which embodies the efforts to enhance the Kingdom’s position as a global destination for major sporting events and activities.

The Cabinet tackled other items on its agenda and issued several decisions, among which the following:

First:

Approving of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) regarding political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Colombia.

Second:

Authorizing the minister of culture, or a deputy, to negotiate and sign with the Turkmenistan side a draft MoU for cultural cooperation.

Third:

Approving an MoU for cooperation in modern transportation between the Ministry of Transport and Logistic Services of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Climate of the Republic of Estonia
.

Fourth:

Approving two MoUs for cooperation in promoting direct investment between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Mauritius and the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.

Fifth:

Authorizing the minister of environment, water, and agriculture, chairman of board of directors of the General Food Security Authority (GFSA), or a deputy, to negotiate and sign with the Qatari side a draft MoU in the field of food security.

Sixth:

Approving an MoU for exchanging financial investigations related to combating money laundering and terrorism financing between the Saudi General Directorate of Financial Investigation at the Presidency of State Security and the Iraqi Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Office.

Seventh:

Approving an MoU for cooperation in the fields of accounting, auditing, and professional work between the Saudi General Court of Audit and the Tunisian Court of Accounts.

Eighth:

Approving the final account of the Al Madinah Region Development Authority for
a previous fiscal year.
