The King Abdulaziz Public Library in Riyadh has concluded its annual summer Reading Olympiad, a month-long event that attracted a large number of children and their families.

A total of 1,147 participating children, of various ages, read over 21,720 pages from 913 books, including children’s stories, and educational, artistic, historical, and cultural titles.

Designed to foster a love of reading and develop linguistic and cognitive skills, the Reading Olympiad makes a productive use of the school summer break. By emphasizing reading skills and encouraging children to explore the rich content of books, it seeks to enhance their academic performance and broaden their knowledge.

The Olympiad was widely praised by parents and educational institutions for its vital role in promoting reading among young generations.

A closing ceremony was held to honor the children who read the most books, recognizing their outstanding efforts in reading and absorbing the information presented in the books.
