Saudi Interior Minister Holds Official Meeting with Qatari Counterpart

Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz held an official meeting today in Doha with Qatari Minister of Interior and Commander of Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani.

At the beginning of the meeting, Prince Abdulaziz affirmed that the meeting aims to enhance security cooperation between the two brotherly countries, based on the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This comes in light of the two countries’ deep-rooted historical and fraternal relations.

During the meeting, the ministers discussed the current security cooperation paths between the two countries’ interior ministries and ways to develop them in various fields. They also discussed issues of mutual interest.

Following the meeting, Prince Abdulaziz and Sheikh Khalifa witnessed the signing of
a security agreement between the governments of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the State of Qatar, as well as a memorandum of understanding between the Ministries of Interior in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the State of Qatar in the field of scientific, training, and research activities. The documents were signed by Assistant Minister of Interior Dr. Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al-Falih and the Qatari Ministry of Interior Undersecretary Abdullah bin Khalaf Al-Kaabi.

The meeting was attended by the Saudi ambassador to Qatar, Prince Mansour bin Khalid bin Farhan; Assistant Minister of Interior Dr. Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al-Falih; Ministry of Interior Undersecretary for Security Affairs Mohammed bin Muhanna Al-Muhanna; Passports Director-General Lieutenant General Sulaiman bin Abdulaziz Al-Yahya; and several other senior officials.
