Jeddah Municipality Participates in the 38th ICRI General Meeting

Jeddah Municipality’s marine coastal monitoring and protection agency, is participating in the 38th general meeting of the International Coral Reef Initiative (ICRI), which is hosted here from September 9 to 13.

Experts, researchers, and decision makers working in the marine environment protection sector, from the Kingdom and abroad, take part in the event.

The meeting aims to come up with better ways to protect people from threats like climate change, pollution, unsustainable fishing practices, and diverse blue economy activities, and boost cooperation between governments, non-governmental organizations, and private companies to address problems posed to coral reefs.

The municipality participates to exchange knowledge and experience, and discuss future trends and current challenges to protecting coral reefs.

nvironment and promoting marine tourism in the region.
