Riyadh: Red Sea Global (RSG), known for its pioneering regenerative tourism destinations, The Red Sea and AMAALA, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee (SOPC) under its commercial brand, Team Saudi.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Team Saudi serves as the official identity for the Kingdom's athletes at Olympic, Paralympic, and multi-sport events, embodying national pride and unity. The partnership aims to engage Saudi Paralympic athletes in shaping future sporting and entertainment experiences that cater to diverse communities.
The signing ceremony took place at Red Sea Global's headquarters in Riyadh, attended by RSG's Group Chief Development Officer Nick King and SOPC's Chief Shared Services and Solutions Officer Bakr Darwish. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to inclusivity, aligning with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 goals.
Nick King emphasized the importance of creating inclusive destinations that cater to all visitors. By incorporating feedback from Saudi athletes, RSG aims to enhance the accessibility and enjoyment of its destinations for both local and international guests.
Under the MoU, RSG and SOPC will highlight experiences at Red Sea Global's locations for all individuals, whether elite athletes or amateurs, and promote joint campaigns during significant events like the International Day for Persons with Disabilities. The partnership also plans to utilize the 'Team Saudi' mobile app to foster long-term community engagement.
Bakr Darwish expressed that the partnership underscores national goals for inclusion and celebrates the unity and ambition of Team Saudi. RSG's subsidiary, Red Sea Sports and Entertainment (RSSE), will lead efforts to deliver on this partnership through its brands WAMA, Akun, and Galaxea, offering diverse experiences for guests.
The MoU is set for an initial three-year period, with plans to build on its momentum. This initiative aligns with Red Sea Global's 2023 Pledge to ensure accessibility for guests with disabilities and specific needs.
The Red Sea destination, which first welcomed guests in 2023, currently features five hotels and boasts a strategic location accessible to millions globally. AMAALA is also on track to open later this year, offering luxurious accommodations and amenities.
