King Abdullah City for Atomic, Renewable Energy and KAUST Sign MoU to Advance Renewable Energy and AI

Riyadh: Under the patronage of Minister of Energy, Chairman of the Board of Directors of King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy (KACARE), and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, KACARE yesterday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with KAUST at the university's headquarters in Thuwal.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the MoU aims to boost scientific cooperation in renewable energy, hydrogen, artificial intelligence, open innovation, and creative design. It also seeks to accelerate the adoption of sustainable technology and the development of prototypes and practical solutions to address local challenges.

The agreement also includes launching joint educational and training programs for national talent, developing specialized academic tracks, and supporting entrepreneurship through the development of business accelerators and technology incubators. These initiatives are poised to empower innovation and stimulate a sustainable energy ecosystem.

The MoU further stipulates cooperation in providing technical consultation, organizing scientific events and specialized exhibitions, and exchanging data and technical information within an integrated framework. This collaboration is expected to enhance local content development and support national energy and innovation efforts, reflecting KACARE's commitment to expanding its strategic partnerships with national and international universities. It underscores the institution's contribution to developing the sustainable energy sector in line with the Kingdom's development and innovation goals.
