Riyadh: Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) Assistant Supervisor General and Head of the Projects and Development Initiatives Sector Eng. Hassan Al-Attas met at the program headquarters with Marib Girls Foundation head Yasmeen Al-Qadhi. The meeting was also attended by SDRPY Assistant Supervisor General for Institutional Relations and Head of the Communication and International Cooperation Sector Abdullah bin Kadasa.
According to Saudi Press Agency, participants discussed strategies to enhance cooperation in supporting and empowering Yemeni women economically and developmentally. This meeting is part of the ongoing partnership between SDRPY and the Marib Girls Foundation, which has successfully implemented the 'Saba Economic Empowerment Program for Women,' a pioneering initiative in Marib Governorate.
Al-Qadhi acknowledged SDRPY's role in supporting local initiatives and building human capacity. She emphasized that such partnerships contribute significantly to enhancing economic and social stability, enabling women to participate actively in development.
The Saba Economic Empowerment Program for Women has established the first women's business incubator in Marib, equipping 60 women with entrepreneurial skills. It facilitated the development of 35 business projects, providing them with funding, capacity building, and consulting services. Moreover, 5,000 female students benefited from awareness campaigns under the program's activities.
SDRPY has implemented 264 projects and development initiatives across the country, covering sectors such as education, health, transportation, energy, water, agriculture, fisheries, institutional capacity building, and integrated development programs.
