Museums Commission Waives Entry Fees for People with Disabilities and Their Companions

Riyadh: The Ministry of Culture, through its Museums Commission, has announced the exemption of entry fees for persons with disabilities and their companions to all temporary exhibitions, accompanying programs, and cultural assets.

According to Saudi Press Agency, this initiative is part of a broader strategy to underscore the cultural and educational significance of museums and exhibitions, ensuring alignment with global best practices followed by leading cultural institutions. This move also follows the memorandum of understanding signed on September 8, 2024, between the Museums Commission and the Authority for the Care of People with Disabilities. The agreement aims to formulate joint policies and strategies that empower individuals with disabilities within all museum-related fields, thereby enhancing the quality and accessibility of services provided to them.

Temporary museums and exhibitions serve as valuable educational platforms that ignite curiosity, cultivate a passion for exploration and learning, and nurture creative and artistic talents. These venues are committed to providing inclusive environments featuring interactive spaces, sensory tools, and tailored educational programs that cater to the unique needs of persons with disabilities.
