Paris: Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah participated in a preparatory meeting on Thursday hosted by President Emmanuel Macron of the French Republic, ahead of the ministerial meeting on the United States’ plan for Gaza and the next steps toward a ceasefire.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the meeting was attended by foreign ministers and representatives from Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Trkiye, the United Arab Emirates, Italy, the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, Canada, and High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas. The gathering aimed to discuss President Trump’s proposal and the agreement regarding Gaza, including the ceasefire, the exchange of prisoners, and the release of hostages.
Participants at the meeting underscored the importance of achieving a full Israeli withdrawal and coordinating efforts to address the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip. They also stressed the need for supporting early recovery and reconstru
ction in the region, as well as strengthening and empowering the Palestinian Authority. The discussion highlighted the necessity of ensuring the territorial and political unity of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip within the framework of implementing a two-state solution, in line with the New York Declaration on the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution.
