Riyadh:According to Saudi Press Agency, Saudi Arabia has assumed the presidency of the Union of Arab Chambers for its new term. This role is represented by Abdullah Saleh Kamel, President of the Federation of Saudi Chambers and Chairman of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development. Saudi Arabia succeeds Tunisia, in line with the union's rotating presidency system based on alphabetical order among Arab countries.
This presidency coincides with the union's 2026-2030 strategy, which focuses on expanding Arab economic integration. The strategy aims to stimulate investment, encourage joint production, and link capital with investment opportunities. It also seeks to develop value chains and empower small and medium-sized enterprises while enhancing private-sector participation in setting Arab economic priorities.
In the upcoming phase, the union plans to prioritize joint Arab investment, productive integration, food and industrial security, and digital transformation. The goal is to strengthen the integration of the Arab business community into regional and global value chains.
Saudi Arabia's presidency aligns with the country's Vision 2030, which is entering its third phase for the 2026-2030 period. This phase focuses on accelerating implementation and maximizing impact, with an emphasis on continued government capital expenditure. It also aims to enhance the roles of the Public Investment Fund (PIF) and the National Development Fund (NDF) in stimulating domestic investment, providing a supportive economic context for expanding investment and production partnerships.
