Riyadh: The Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) today launched a seminar in the Republic of the Maldives titled ‘Manifestations of Ideological Extremism in the Educational Environment,’ as part of its prevention initiative focusing on intellectual awareness.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the event aims to enhance intellectual resilience among educators and community members and to prevent the spread of extremist and deviant ideas and behaviors within educational settings.
The seminar brought together a group of academics, intellectuals, and experts in the fields of thought, education, and media from the Maldives, along with representatives from government bodies, educational institutions, and other relevant entities.
This initiative falls within IMCTC’s strategic efforts to strengthen ideological prevention systems in member states by equipping educators with the skills to detect early signs of extremism, address its ideological and behavioral roots, and promote a culture of moderation and tolerance in educational and community environments.
Through such seminars and lectures, the coalition underscores that education serves as the first line of defense against extremist ideologies, and that investing in awareness and knowledge remains the cornerstone of safeguarding societies and ensuring their security and stability.
