Riyadh: The eighth Joint Archaeological Exhibition of the Arab Gulf States commenced at the National Museum in Riyadh, scheduled to run from December 1 to 30. The exhibition delves into the history of humankind in the region, spanning from the Stone Age to the pre-Islamic era and highlighting the region's role in the Islamic world. It showcases a variety of artifacts, including stone tools, pottery, inscriptions, art, architecture, and jewelry.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the exhibition is organized by the Heritage Commission in collaboration with the National Museum and the Museums Commission, with strategic partnership from the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council. The initiative is aimed at enhancing the cultural identity of the region on both regional and international levels, while also promoting joint Gulf action.
The hosting of this exhibition in the Kingdom emphasizes its role in fostering cooperation in heritage and antiquities. This effort aligns with the Vision 2030 goals, which focus on strengthening cultural and historical ties within the region.
