OIC Assistant Secretary-General and Azerbaijan Culture Minister Discuss Cultural Cooperation

Baku: Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian, Cultural, and Social Affairs Ambassador Tariq Ali Bakheet met with Azerbaijani Minister of Culture Adil Karimli on the sidelines of the OIC Cultural Festival 'Baku Creative Week.' The meeting included an exchange of views on cultural projects listed on the bilateral cooperation agenda between the OIC and Azerbaijan.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Bakheet commended the high level of organization of the festival and praised Azerbaijan's efforts in supporting and promoting initiatives that serve the broader objectives of OIC member states, emphasizing the role of culture and cultural industries as key drivers of shared development and societal progress within the OIC framework.

The Azerbaijani culture minister expressed his appreciation to the OIC for granting Azerbaijan the opportunity to host the cultural festival. He described the event as an important step toward strengthening cooperation among OIC member states, celebrating shared cultural heritage, and encouraging creativity and innovation across various cultural fields.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss prospects for cultural cooperation, to plan several upcoming joint events, to advance common objectives, and to enhance the level of cooperation among OIC member states in line with the organization's cultural agenda.
