Doha: The Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha), led by its President Mazin Al-Kahmous, participated in the Annual Conference of the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (IAACA) in Doha, Qatar. At the IAACA Executive Committee meeting, the Kingdom reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to combating corruption in line with Vision 2030 and to supporting international anti-corruption efforts.
According to Saudi Press Agency, key highlights of the Kingdom's recent international efforts included chairing and hosting the first annual meeting of the Asset Recovery Inter-Agency Network in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA-ARIN). They also included participation in a Saudi-Maldivian forum that adopted high-level principles for combating corruption in the tourism sector among Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states, as well as hosting the second Global Conference on Harnessing Data to Improve Corruption Measurement.
Al-Kahmous emphasized the effective implementation of the UN Convention against Corruption, particularly through strengthening international cooperation mechanisms, such as the GlobE Network, to combat transnational crime and support asset recovery. He urged IAACA members to support the global integrity initiative for measuring corruption levels and to back the Kingdom's draft resolution at the UN Convention against Corruption to enhance data collection and analysis capabilities among states.
The Kingdom's participation and election to the IAACA Executive Committee in February 2025 reflects international recognition of its global leadership in fighting corruption.
