Dammam: The GCC Interconnection Authority (GCCIA) and the Sustainable Energy organization signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Sunday to establish a framework for cooperation in scientific research, energy efficiency, sustainability, and specialized events organization. GCCIA's CEO Eng. Ahmed Al-Ebrahim signed the MoU with Sustainable Energy organization's Chairman Dr. Sami Al-Nuaim at the authority's headquarters in Dammam.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the agreement aims to foster productive collaboration between the two sides across industrial, developmental, strategic, academic, scientific, research, and training domains. It seeks to strengthen mutual understanding, enhance relations, and facilitate knowledge exchange in cooperation areas.
Under the MoU, both parties will coordinate efforts to raise public awareness of energy issues, organize conferences and scientific forums, and adopt specialized initiatives and projects that support national sustainability goals and energy efficiency, while promoting innovation and energy optimization.
The two sides will work to develop academic, research, and consultancy collaborations, covering scientific studies; research and development in energy transition technologies and resource efficiency techniques; and the sharing of expertise and experiences, potentially leading to the design and implementation of projects.
