Riyadh: Deputy Assistant Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources for Competitiveness and Advanced Manufacturing, Dr. Ahmed Al-Zawawi, engaged in a bilateral meeting with Kyriakos Triantafyllidis, Head of Growth and Strategy at the Centre for Advanced Manufacturing and Supply Chains at the World Economic Forum (WEF). The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation to support industrial transformation in the Kingdom, held during the Industrial Transformation Saudi Arabia 2025 Exhibition.
According to Saudi Press Agency, discussions at the meeting centered on major global trends in advanced manufacturing technologies and the acceleration of Fourth Industrial Revolution applications in national factories. The importance of international partnerships was highlighted to facilitate the transfer of modern industrial technologies and to bolster the development of value chains within the industrial sector.
Future collaboration opportunities between the Ministry and the World Economic Forum were also reviewed, particularly under the 'Industrial Lighthouse' initiative. The talks aimed to enhance an environment conducive to a competitive industrial sector that leverages cutting-edge technologies, aligns with future demands, and supports Saudi Vision 2030 along with the National Industrial Strategy.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Industrial Transformation Saudi Arabia 2025 Exhibition, which marked its inaugural presence in the region as an extension of the global Hannover Messe exhibitions. The event was hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources in collaboration with Deutsche Messe and Riyadh Exhibitions Company.
