Riyadh: Official Spokesman of the Coalition Forces to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen, Major General Turki Al-Maliki, announced that the coalition is prepared to respond to any military actions that could jeopardize ongoing peace efforts. This announcement follows a request from the President of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, who has called for immediate measures to protect civilians in Hadhramout Governorate from serious human rights violations. These violations are reportedly being committed by armed groups linked to the Southern Transitional Council.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the coalition, which includes the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, is continuing its joint efforts to de-escalate tensions. This includes facilitating the withdrawal of the Transitional Council forces, transferring control of military camps to the Nation Shield Forces, and enabling local authorities to perform their duties effectively. Major General Al-Maliki stated that any military movements disrupting these efforts will be met with direct and immediate actions to safeguard civilian lives and support the Saudi-Emirati peace initiatives.
Major General Al-Maliki reiterated the coalition's steadfast support for the legitimate Yemeni government. He called on all parties involved to embrace their national responsibilities, maintain restraint, and engage with peaceful resolutions to maintain security and stability in the region.
