42 Students to Represent Saudi Arabia at ISEF 2026 in the United States

Phoenix: The Saudi Science and Engineering Team will depart on Thursday for the United States to take part in the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF 2026), to be held in Phoenix, Arizona, from May 9 to 15.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Saudi Arabia, represented by the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba) and the Ministry of Education, has participated in the fair annually since 2007. The Kingdom has secured 185 awards, including 124 grand awards and 61 special awards, at ISEF, recognized as the world's largest pre-university science and engineering competition.

The Saudi team includes 42 male and female students who will present distinguished projects in promising scientific fields. They were selected from among the winners of the National Olympiad for Scientific Creativity (Ibdaa 2026), one of 27 scientific programs and competitions organized annually by Mawhiba for gifted students.

The students qualified from more than 357,000 participants who submitted over 34,000 scientific projects across 22 fields in Ibdaa 2026. Their selection followed a competitive process spanning six rigorous evaluation stages, including 16 regional exhibitions and four central exhibitions, culminating in the Ibdaa Science and Engineering Fair, before their final nomination after an intensive training camp at the Mishkat Interactive Center.
