Ivorian Interior Minister and Saudi Ambassador Review Makkah Route Initiative at Abidjan Airport

Abidjan: Ivorian Minister of Interior and Security General Vagondo Diomand© and Saudi Ambassador to C´te d'Ivoire Saad Al-Qathami visited the Makkah Route Initiative Terminal at F©lix Houphou«t-Boigny International Airport in Abidjan on Wednesday. During the visit, they reviewed operations and services provided to Hajj pilgrims benefiting from the initiative.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the terminal handles the departure of pilgrims to Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah. Beneficiaries complete their procedures at the Abidjan airport, reducing travel time and streamlining the journey until they reach their accommodation in Makkah and Madinah.

Diomand© and Al-Qathami were briefed on the workflow at the terminal and the technical and organizational services offered to pilgrims, designed to facilitate their travel procedures to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj with ease and reassurance. These procedures include the electronic issuance of Hajj visas, completion of passport procedures at the airport in Abidjan, and the coding and sorting of luggage in line with transport and accommodation arrangements in Saudi Arabia.

Makkah Route Initiative is part of Saudi Arabia's efforts to enhance the quality of services provided to pilgrims through an integrated system implemented by the Ministry of Interior in cooperation with several relevant government entities.
