Makkah: The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing has urged pilgrims to benefit from the digital services offered through the Balady app during the 1447 AH Hajj season to facilitate mobility and access to sites and services in Makkah and the holy sites as part of an integrated digital ecosystem supporting crowd management and enhancing the efficiency of services provided to pilgrims.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the ministry explained that the Balady app has updated spatial data for more than 11,800 locations and landmarks in Makkah and the holy sites, in cooperation with the Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites, with the aim of improving digital map accuracy and enhancing the navigation and accessibility experience.
The digital services also include an interactive 3D experience for the Grand Mosque's entrances and exits, pedestrian routes, and the Jamarat Bridge, supporting smoother movement within the holy sites and easier access to key locations during Hajj rituals.
These efforts align with digital transformation objectives and the development of smart municipal services, leveraging modern technologies and geospatial data to enhance pilgrims' experience during the Hajj season.
