Kuala Lumpur:RUA AlHaram AlMakki, a Public Investment Fund company and the master developer of the King Salman Gate project, has signed a cooperation agreement with Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad (MRCB) in Kuala Lumpur. The agreement is to study the development of a major transport-oriented mixed-use destination within King Salman Gate in Makkah, with a projected value of SAR21 billion.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the project is contingent upon completing due diligence, obtaining required approvals and financing, determining implementation phases, and signing final agreements. The agreement aims to attract international investments to develop King Salman Gate, boosting Saudi Arabia's capacity to serve pilgrims and visitors in Makkah.
The cooperation will leverage MRCB's expertise in integrated transport systems, such as KL Sentral, Malaysia's largest integrated transport hub. The project includes a study to develop a public bus station and mixed-use developments, enhancing access and improving the experience for pilgrims and visitors in Makkah.
The agreement will explore frameworks for developing, financing, and implementing the project, drawing on RUA AlHaram AlMakki's vision and MRCB's capabilities in major mixed-use transport-linked developments. This partnership aligns with Saudi Vision 2030, aiming to enrich the pilgrim experience while preserving Makkah's heritage.
