International Forum on AI in Security Fields Inaugurated in Doha

Doha:Qatar's Minister of State for Interior Affairs Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Faisal bin Mohammed Al Thani inaugurated the International Scientific Forum on the Uses of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Security Fields. This event is organized by Naif Arab University for Security Sciences (NAUSS) in cooperation with the Qatar Police Academy.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the three-day forum gathers experts and specialists from Arab countries and representatives of relevant international institutions.

NAUSS Vice President for External Relations Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Harfash emphasized in his opening remarks that AI is a new arena for security and offers a strategic opportunity to enhance security amid rapid digital transformations. He noted the importance of countries and institutions leveraging this technology to improve crime prevention and build smart security capabilities to better handle future threats and promote stability and development.

The forum's objectives include exploring AI's role in security enhancement and future threat mitigation. It aims to utilize smart technologies for the early detection and combating of drug-related, financial, and cybercrimes. Additionally, it seeks to improve efforts against financial fraud and transnational organized crime while aiding security decision-making through predictive analytics and intelligent models.
