Saudi Arabia Denounces Houthi Attacks on Civilians and Facilities

Riyadh:The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia has strongly condemned the terrorist Houthi militia for their ongoing attacks on civilians and various civilian and economic facilities within the Kingdom. These attacks have targeted the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah, as well as Riyadh and other cities including Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan, Najran, Taif, and Yanbu. Additionally, Saudi vessels in the southern Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait have been targeted.

According to Saudi Press Agency, since the Houthis' coup against Yemen's legitimate government in 2014, Saudi Arabia has consistently worked towards a comprehensive political solution in Yemen. However, the Houthi militia has opted for continued military escalation, exacerbating the humanitarian and economic suffering of the Yemeni people, aligning with external agendas.

Saudi Arabia reaffirms its right to defend its territory and sovereignty, pledging to take necessary measures for its security in line with international law. The Kingdom fully supports the Presidential Leadership Council, the Yemeni government, and the Yemeni people to end the coup and reinstate control over state institutions.

The Kingdom calls on the international community, particularly the permanent members of the Security Council, to uphold their responsibilities by implementing Security Council resolutions and supporting Yemen's legitimate government against the Houthi threat.
