According to Saudi Press Agency, the significance of this endeavor lies in transforming the cultivation of natural gum-producing trees into an economic activity that integrates planting, harvesting, processing, and packaging to produce value-added finished goods. This development coincides with an increasing interest in plant-based materials for use in perfumes, incense, and cosmetics.

Murih Al-Shahrani, the Director General of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture branch in Najran, highlighted that frankincense cultivation presents a promising opportunity to expand the cultivation of economically and environmentally valuable trees. This expansion would diversify the agricultural production base, enhance environmental sustainability, and explore new production models tailored to the region's natural characteristics.

Al-Shahrani emphasized the importance of conducting scientific studies on trials involving these trees, considering climatic conditions, soil characteristics, water requirements, and the suitability of agricultural sites. He stressed the necessity of evaluating field trial results to identify optimal practices that support sustainable tree growth and production.
