A Royal Directive: Kaaba Kiswa (cloth) to be handed over on Dhul-Hijjah 10th, to replace the current Kiswa on next Muharram 1st

Makkah– General President for the Affairs of the Grand Holy Mosque and the Prophet’s Holy Mosque, Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz Al-Sudais, has stated that a Royal directive has been issued that the delivery of the Kaaba Kiswa (cloth) to the chief guardian of the Grand Holy Mosque shall be on the first day of Eid al-Adha, corresponding to the tenth of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah for the year 1443 AH, and that the date of its replacement shall be the first of Muharram, 1444 AH.

Al-Sudais stressed that the Saudi leadership is proactive in every measure that would raise the level of services provided in the Two Holy Mosques, with Kaaba on the leadership’s top concern through maintaining its Kiswa and replacing it with a new one on yearly basis.

The General President said: “Allah Almighty has honored this blessed country by taking care of His Holy Mosque and its affairs, and being kind to its visitors,” praying to Allah to crown the Kingdom’s efforts with success to achieve the aspirations and directives of the wise leadership.
