Saudi Green Initiative Forum focuses on KSA’s approach to reducing carbon emissions

Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt– Green Saudi Initiative Forum, which will be held on the 11th and 12th of this month, on the sidelines of the COP27 conference in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt will discuss the progress made during the past year, which reflects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s commitment and contributions to protecting the climate, to achieve the slogan “From Ambition to Action”, with the participation of several ministers, government prime ministers, thought leaders and climate experts.

The forum will focus on the Kingdom’s green transition journey and its multifaceted and multidisciplinary approach to reducing carbon emissions, renewable energy sources, and clean hydrogen production, and the Kingdom’s pioneering efforts in developing a circular carbon economy, afforestation, and protecting the natural environment in the Kingdom.

The Saudi Green Initiative 2022 Forum, which will be accompanied by an exhibition extending from 7 – 18 November demonstrating the scope and pace of climate movement in the Kingdom, will define the Kingdom’s plans to achieve the goal of planting 450 million trees by 2030 sustainably and accurately to preserve the Kingdom’s unique biodiversity.

The Saudi Green Initiative, launched by HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, and Prime Minister, charts the Kingdom’s direction in protecting the land and nature while adopting ambitious goals in the coming decades that support improving the quality of life and protecting future generations by increasing reliance on clean energy and neutralizing impacts resulting from oil and environmental protection.
