Saudi-Jordanian Joint Land Transport Technical Committee Agrees to Facilitate Movement of Passengers and Goods

Riyadh– Saudi-Jordanian Joint Technical Committee for Land Transport concluded its meetings here today, which was chaired from the Saudi side, the Undersecretary of Land Transport at the Transport General Authority, Eng. Abdulmajid Mousa Al-Tassan, and on the Jordanian side by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Transport, Engineer Wissam Tahtamoni, with the participation of representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Transport and Logistics, and the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority from the Saudi side, and from the Jordanian side, the Director of the Land Transport Regulatory Authority, and representatives of Public Security and Jordan Customs.

Al-Tassan explained that the committee discussed the challenges facing carriers and licensed facilities in land transport, adding that the committee, “whose meetings spanned over two days”, agreed on a set of measures that will contribute to facilitating procedures and supporting the movement of passengers and goods in a manner that serves common interests and enhances the movement of trade and economic exchange between the two countries.

Eng. Tahtamoni stated that the Jordanian Ministry of Transport, in cooperation with the Transport General Authority, is seeking integration and overcoming all obstacles and challenges facing the movement of passengers and goods between the two countries and its reflection on the movement of trade exchange.
