The head of the Parliamentary Immigration and Displacement Committee, Sharif Suleiman, criticized the government’s interest in the residents of the Syrian al-Hol camp, or the so-called rehabilitation center for ISIS terrorist families, leaving the other displaced in deplorable conditions.

Suleiman told the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that “the Syrian al-Hol camp, which collects the remnants of the terrorist ISIS, has become a burden” for the countries that have nationals in it, as it contains 52 foreign nationalities and 72,000 members of the terrorist ISIS.

He pointed out, “This camp, which opened recently, does not need this attention, who needs attention are the displaced in other camps that live in deplorable conditions, indicating that the displaced and the displacement camps suffer from the absence of government support, which has pledged to include the return of the displaced to their areas.

The head of the Parliamentary Migration and Displacement Committee confirmed, “Iraq does not have the ability to include the residents of Al-Hol camp in Iraqi society because they are imbued with the ideas of the terrorist ISIS and pose a threat to the fabric of society.”
