Deputy Prime Minister inaugurates Housing Finance Exhibition

Under the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for the Housing and Urban Planning Ministry to hold activities and exhibitions that contribute to introducing housing financing services and programmes, Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister inaugurated the second edition of the Housing Finance Exhibition.

Shaikh Khalid affirmed that the organization of the exhibition coincides with the efforts aimed at implementing the visions of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the directives of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to continue enhancing living standards for citizens.

He noted that the government continues to develop its policies to ensure the sustainability of housing services through providing innovative solutions that fulfill the needs of citizens, which include the housing finance program that was launched in August of last year and the government land development rights programme.

The government land development rights programme inaugurated its first completed project today, “Suhail”, Shaikh Khalid said, adding that the project, located in Al Lawzi and providing 132 housing units, reflects the successful partnership with the private sector.

The Deputy Prime Minister praised the efforts of all parties involved in the housing finance system, which resulted in such positive outcomes, including real estate development companies contributing to offering housing projects and plans at suitable prices to all beneficiaries of the new financing programs. He also thanked local banks participating in providing finances and facilitating procedures.

Shaikh Khalid commended the efforts of the Housing ministry and Eskan Bank in organising the housing finance exhibition this year, which offers a real estate portfolio that includes more than 10,000 properties, in addition to the units of “Suhail” housing project, in a way that showcases the abundance of real estate supply.

Amina bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Housing, and Urban Planning Minister hailed the directives of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for the Housing and Urban Planning Ministry to inaugurate activities and exhibitions that contribute to introducing housing financing services and programmes.

She noted that the launch of the exhibition in its second edition comes as a continuation of the success of the exhibition’s first edition which received more than 23,000 visitors.

Al Rumaihi thanked the Deputy Prime Minister for his patronage of the exhibition, which reflects his continuous support for housing projects and programmes, in order to achieve the government’s vision to deliver housing requests in a timely manner.

She said that the exhibition is one of the ministry’s main initiatives to introduce citizens to financing services, and the various financing options it offers through “real estate facilitation”, “Al-Bayt Al-Oud” and “Cooperation facilitation”.

The exhibition, bringing together 19 real estate development companies and eight banks, will continue for 10 days until June 24.
