Activists reported today, Tuesday, that at least 10 people were killed and others injured in clashes that erupted between Arab tribesmen and the “Syrian Democratic Forces” in several regions of eastern Syria.

The Agency said “AB” that these clashes are among the worst in the region in recent years along the border with Iraq.

Clashes erupted for the first time on Monday, a day after the US-backed, Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) arrested a formerly loyal group leader and several other members of his faction after inviting them to a meeting in the northeastern city of Hasakah.

Some Arab tribesmen in the eastern province of Deir al-Zour were outraged by the arrest of Ahmed al-Khabil, known as “Abu Khawla”.

“Abu Khawla” is the commander of the Deir Ezzor Military Council, which allied with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in its years-long battle against the “ISIS” organization in Syria.

Deir Ezzor 24, an activist group covering the region, said eight civilians were killed in the village of Al-Harijiyeh, where the fighting was most intense.

Sham FM reported. The radio station reported that ten people were killed in Al-Harijiyeh and Al-Buraiha, and that dozens of civilians were injured as well.
