The Supreme Follow-up Committee called on the Arab masses to adhere to the general strike approved by the Follow-up Committee at its emergency meeting, yesterday, Sunday, in Kafr Qara, “in light of the continuing rampant cycle of crime and violence in Arab society and the exposed official government collusion, to make our society sink into a state of terror.” And blood, and counting the dead and injured victims, so our strike tomorrow must reflect the collective national position against the ongoing crime and the government’s support for it, in order to stop what is happening and ensure a safe life and a better future for our children and the emerging generations.”
The follow-up committee saluted the issuance of statements of commitment to the strike, issued by the National Committee of Heads of Arab Local Authorities, the Qatari Committee of Arab Parents, the Committee for Follow-up on Arab Education Issues, and the parties that issued statements in their name.
The follow-up stressed “the necessity of turning the fight against crime terrorism into a popular uprising for life and to direct the arrows to the brutal Israeli authority that sponsors crime terrorism.”
The follow-up renews the call to organize popular activities in various towns, provided that they are coordinated between the popular committees, the components of the follow-up committee, local authorities, and parents’ committees, provided that they take place after the end of school hours, after the third period, in accordance with the decision of the follow-up committee.
The follow-up also called for widespread participation in the major Negev demonstration scheduled for the day of the strike at five o’clock in the evening tomorrow, Tuesday, at the junction of the village of Arara in the Negev, at the invitation of the Supreme Steering Committee for the Arabs of the Negev and the Regional Council of Unrecognized Villages, “against the continuation of uprooting, demolition and destruction plans.” Confiscation, and also against the spread of crime, are all schemes targeting our society as a whole
