Baghdad, Oil prices rose today, Monday, after a disagreement within OPEC + over production policy led to a third day of talks in an attempt to break the deadlock among producers in the group.
By 5:30 Baghdad time, Brent rose 18 cents, or 0.2%, to $76.35 a barrel, to be trading around the highs of two and a half years.
US crude rose 22 cents, or 0.3%, to $75.38 a barrel.
The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and its allies, within the framework of the “OPEC +” group, will resume talks today, Monday, after failing to reach an agreement last week, amid a dispute between Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
