Al-Araji Calls For Support For The Iraqi Government’s Proposal To Hold An Int’l Conference On Al-Hol Camp

The National Security Adviser, Qassem Al-Araji, demanded support for the Iraqi government’s proposal to hold an international conference on Al-Hol camp before the end of this year.

The chancellery said in a statement: “Al-Araji met, in his office today, Saturday, with the US ambassador to Baghdad, Alina Romanowski, and discussed with her the latest developments in the political and security situation at the regional and international levels, in addition to discussing the development of cooperation relations between Iraq and the United States.”

It explained that files and issues of common interest were also discussed, especially the Syrian al-Hol camp file, and the importance of countries withdrawing their nationals from it, as well as discussing continued cooperation in the field of combating terrorism.

During the meeting, Al-Araji renewed the demand to support the Iraqi government’s proposal to hold an international conference on Al-Hol camp before the end of this year, stressing the Iraqi government’s firm approach to continuing cooperation with the international community to consolidate security and stability in the region.

Al-Araji indicated that Iraq’s policy is based on common interests and balanced relations with countries.

For her part, the American ambassador affirmed the continued support of the United States to the Iraqi government in the field of combating terrorism and drugs, and humanitarian issues, especially the support for the integration and psychological rehabilitation team of the Ministry of Migration and Displacement.
