According to Saudi Press Agency, since ancient times, Al-Darb has been a main passageway for pilgrims heading to the Grand Mosque and for trade caravans traveling to Jazan from various regions, carrying the fragrance of history and a rich commercial heritage. Today, it stands as one of the most vibrant and fast-growing governorates, bearing witness to the connection between regions.
Al-Darb enjoys a captivating natural landscape that has made it a prominent tourist destination, attracting more than half a million visitors annually who come to enjoy its mild weather, sandy beaches, warm valleys, gardens, and public parks.
The Reem Center in Al-Darb Governorate is known for its charming mountainous terrain and lush valleys, such as Wadi Reem, considered one of the most beautiful environmental tourism sites in the region.
The governorate also offers several modern destinations that showcase agricultural and recreational tourism, allowing visitors to experience farming firsthand alongside a variety of entertainment activities, making it a fully integrated family destination that reflects the concept of sustainable tourism.
As part of efforts to promote sustainable development, the governorate is witnessing the implementation of new and modern infrastructure projects that create investment opportunities and enhance its tourism and economic standing. Jazan Region Municipality is carrying out 70 municipal projects as part of a series of developmental, tourism, and investment initiatives.
