Arab Islamic Ministerial Committee Regrets U.S. Visa Denial for Palestinian Delegation

New york: The Arab Islamic Ministerial Committee on Gaza expressed its regret over the U.S. Department of State's decision to deny entry visas to the State of Palestine's delegation for the upcoming 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, scheduled to occur in New York in September.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the committee urged the U.S. administration to reconsider and reverse its decision. It emphasized the importance of adhering to the obligations under the United Nations Headquarters Agreement, which facilitates dialogue and diplomacy. The committee highlighted the constructive positions of the Palestinian National Authority and its continued commitment to choosing peace strategically.

Furthermore, the committee underscored the necessity of backing the Palestinian National Authority and President Mahmoud Abbas in promoting governmental reforms. It noted the commitments reaffirmed by Abbas to global leaders, emphasizing peace and tackling violence, extremism, and terrorism amid challenging circumstances marked by increased tensions against the Palestinian people. The committee warned that undermining the Palestinian Authority could jeopardize peace initiatives, potentially leading to a rise in violence and prolonging the conflict.
