Azerbaijani-Saudi Joint Committee and Azerbaijani-Saudi Investment Forum convene in Azerbaijan

Baku– The 17th session of the Saudi-Azerbaijani Joint Committee was held in Baku, Azerbaijan, today, headed by the Minister of Investment, Eng. Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih, and the Azerbaijani Minister of Finance, Samir Sharifov, with the participation of public and private sector representatives from the two countries.

In his opening speech, Al-Falih stressed the importance of strengthening and unifying joint efforts, expanding the scope of cooperation between the Kingdom and Azerbaijan, taking advantage of the available opportunities in areas of common interest, and contributing to providing support and advantages to investors to develop investments between the two sides, highlighting the committee’s important role as one of the main enablers for identifying aspects of cooperation and maximizing the potential in many fields between the two countries.

Meanwhile, the Saudi-Azerbaijani Investment Forum was held today, during which many presentations were made aimed at highlighting the investment environment and opportunities available in the two countries, in addition to discussion sessions and bilateral meetings between the participating companies from both sides.

The meeting and forum witnessed the signing of an agreement to establish the Saudi-Azerbaijan Joint Business Council and a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the Saudi Fund for Development and the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan, in addition to six agreements and MOUs in tourism, human resources, construction, and infrastructure.
