Bahrain International eGovernment Forum draws to a close with engaging AI workshops

Bahrain International eGovernment Forum 2023 officially concluded with parallel workshops, presented in cooperation with knowledge partner Microsoft and the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF). The forum, held under the patronage of General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communication Technology (MCICT) at Exhibition World Bahrain in Sakhir, was themed “AI: Reshaping Industries.”

BIBF conducted a workshop titled “AI Evolution: Navigating the Landscape for Professionals,” participants gained a broader understanding of ethical and privacy considerations related to building unbiased AI models. Mrs. Maryam Majid, BIBF Head of Digital Transformation and Project Management Centre provided an introduction while BIBF Digital Transformation Expert Trainer, Noora Yaseen AlBalooshi conducted a session of the workshop titled “Bias-Free AI: A Deep Dive into Ethics and Privacy” that explored the ethical challenges surrounding AI and the importance of creating AI models free from bias. BIBF AI and Data Analytics Expert, Mohammed Buallay, presented a session titled “AI for Professionals: Bridging the Gap to Innovation”, where participants received practical guidance on integrating AI into their workplaces, simplifying AI models in the process.

Under the banner of “AI Technical Masterclass,” Microsoft offered a technical workshop that explored the transformative potential of AI, emphasizing the latest AI-powered development tools. Microsoft Customer Success Lead – Modern Work and Employee Experience (Middle East), Rami Azzi, delivered the session “Transforming the Way We Work: Introducing Microsoft 365 Co-pilot and AI.” This explored the innovative ways in which AI is enhancing workplace productivity and efficiency.

Microsoft Azure App Innovation and Developer GTM Manager Middle East, Hatim Nagarwala, delivered the presentation “GitHub Unleashed: Navigating the Ecosystem, from Collaboration to AI-Powered Development with GitHub Copilot”. He highlighted the importance of enhancing collaboration and integrating AI-driven tools to streamline development processes.

The 10th edition of the forum drew the participation of more than 600 attendees in the forum sessions from government officials, private sector representatives, IT professionals, and enthusiasts from various government, private, civil society, and academic institutions which witnessed the highest number of attendees since the forum was held.
