Bahrain Paralympic Committee holds meeting

The Bahrain Paralympic Committee held its third meeting for the year 2023, the first for its new Board of Directors, chaired by Shaikh Mohammed bin Duaij Al Khalifa, President of Bahrain Paralympic Committee.

The meeting discussed the most notable achievements during the years 2019-2023, as well as upcoming events.

Shaikh Mohammed bin Duaij and members of the board expressed their appreciation for the edict issued by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS), restructuring the Bahrain Paralympic Committee in its current session (2023-2024).

He praised HH Shaikh Nasser’s efforts to promote sports for people with determination, supported by His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA) and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC).

The president highlighted the development of the sports sector for people with determination thanks to the support received from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, expressing his pride in the achievements of the players with determination and the accomplishment of the Paralympic Committee 2019 to 2023.

During the meeting, Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad bin Ahmed Al Khalifa was appointed vice-chairman of the committee, along with the formation of the executive office.

The committee reviewed the 2023 strategic plan that aimed at making Bahrain an international hub for Paralympic sports.

The board also approved the appointment of Ahmed Mushaima as Representative of the Players Committee.
