Susanne Lindman, The Executive Director and Interim President and CEO of the Saudi-American Business Council (SABC), praised the role played by the new foreign investment system in strengthening economic relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States of America.

In an exclusive interview with the Saudi Press Agency “SPA,” Lindman said that the system contributes to creating a transparent and easy investment environment, ushering in new horizons for cooperation between Saudi and American companies. The system was designed to enhance investment opportunities and address the challenges facing the two sides in the fields of investment, in addition to setting the strategies adopted by the SABC to strengthen trade ties between the two countries, she said.

Lindman pointed out that there is a great opportunity to strengthen cooperation between the two countries. She cited increasing investments and expanding joint projects and partnerships between the public and private sectors.

SABC is com
mitted to facilitating these partnerships by providing strategic advice and linking companies through trade missions and business forums to deepen trade relations and help Saudi and American companies achieve their strategic goals in doing business with each other, she added. Lindman recalled that the SABC had organized more than 60 business development missions and held more than 500 seminars and networking events, successfully resulting in facilitating and linking tens of thousands of companies with each other. She said that providing valuable market insights and advisory services to help companies understand each country’s business and cultural environment comes within the council’s objectives.

She added that the SABC acts as a bridge for communication and commercial cooperation, in which business forums, trade missions, and conferences are appropriate platforms for companies to meet potential partners and explore new business opportunities.

The CEO of SABC touched on Saudi Arabia’s serious endeavour t
o gain expertise and invest in technology and innovation across various fields, especially artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, biotechnology, renewable energy sources, and petrochemical transformation.

Lindman stated that sports and tourism represent promising investment opportunities in Saudi Arabia, drawing attention to the fact that American companies have expertise and specialization in these fields, thus providing an opportunity for mutual benefits through cooperation and joint investment. She paid tribute to the sizable contribution the new foreign investment system lends to supporting SABC’s efforts to facilitate business and create a more transparent and accessible environment for investors in both countries.

The Saudi Cabinet has recently approved the foreign investment system, which is one of the pillars of the National Investment Strategy, aligning with the “Kingdom 2030” vision.
